HIV and Hepatitis Screening Advised After Sydney Dental Audit Findings
A public health warning has been issued by the health authorities in New South Wales, Australia, affecting many former patients of Dr. William Tam, an exiled dentist. It was found out that in an audit conducted on his clinic located in Strathfield, Sydney, there were "poor infection control practices" which included improper sterilization of equipment and improper cleaning procedures. Even though the risk is considered low, it is advised that former patients of Dr. Tam be tested for HIV, Hepatitis B, and Hepatitis C infections since there are no records for contact details.
